Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  How can I place an order with MG Scientific?

A:  Ordering from MG Scientific is designed to be easy. Orders can be called in (800-343-8338) or emailed to MG Scientific customer service (customerservice@mgscientific.com). MG Scientific also accepts orders via our website through its secure customer accounts feature. Additionally, orders may be placed through common SAP platforms such as COUPA and Ariba.
 

 

Q:  Do I need to have a business account set up with MG Scientific?

A:  MG Scientific is a business-to-business distribution company. We do not sell products to general consumers or to individuals not having a clear and authorized connection to the business they represent. Therefore, we require each customer to complete a simple business registration in advance of processing any orders.
 

 

Q:  How do I get Certificates of Analysis and/or Safety Data Sheets for products I ordered?

A:  The easiest way to obtain product certificates and safety data sheets is to download them direct from the manufacturer of record’s website. Each MG Scientific product page has a link to the manufacturer’s website. When on a specific product page, click the “Resources” tab and then click on “CoA” or “SDS” links. You will be directed to a domain where these can be downloaded. You may also use the following link to access any one of our chemical partners’ websites where certificates may be downloaded: https://www.mgscientific.com/ourservices/certificateofanalysissearch.aspx. If you encounter any problems, you may contact MG Scientific customer service at customerservice@mgscientific.com.
 

 

Q: Is it safe to use my credit card?

A:  For your security, all orders on our website are encrypted with the standard SSL (Secured Socket Layers) technology on both the client and server end. For SSL security to work, you must use an SSL-enabled browser. As of 2025, common browsers that support SSL include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Credit card numbers are never stored on MG Scientific servers or in the cloud.
 

 

Q: How is my privacy protected?

A:  At MG Scientific, we are committed to ensuring the privacy of our customers. Information entered during the ordering and registration process will remain confidential. Our privacy policy may be found here: link to privacy policy. If you have opted in to our email list (email signup link here), we will contact you with news about our products, services and events. If you wish to stop receiving these notifications, simply click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email or contact us and we will promptly remove your email address from the list. Information provided to MG Scientific is never sold nor shared with any outside organizations, unless required by law.

Q: How much is shipping & handling?

A:  Shipping and handling charges are dependent on a variety of factors such as product type, quantity, weight, hazard classifications as well as customer preferences.  If no carrier preference is requested at time of order, MG Scientific will select the best option for you to both minimize cost as well as ensure timely delivery. Customers also have the option to designate carrier preference and/or request shipment be made on a customer preferred carrier account.  If you have any questions about the shipment of your order, please contact MG Scientific customer service or attach special instructions to your order.
 

 

Q: How do I return something?

A: Requests for product returns must be made in writing within 5 days and pre-approved by MG Scientific in advance of products being shipped back to MG Scientific. Please contact your MG Scientific customer service representative within 5 days of purchase and include the date of your original purchase order and your purchase order number. A restocking charge may be assessed based upon the individual circumstances of the order and/or the manufacturer’s return policy. Certain products are not returnable; see the Terms and Conditions for details.
 

 

Q:  What if a product I order is damaged in transit?

A: MG Scientific takes every precaution to ensure your deliveries arrive in time and in proper condition. While rare, there is potential for an item to be damaged in transit. Customers must inspect all shipments immediately upon arrival. For external damage, have the driver note any issues on all delivery receipts and keep all packaging materials intact. Notify MG Scientific promptly about visible damage. Regarding hidden damage or shortages, inspect the shipment within 24 hours and report any problems to MG Scientific immediately. Failure to report within 24 hours will result in forfeiture of rights to claims, returns, or credits. Additional details may be found in the Terms and Conditions (link to T&C page here).
 

 

Q: What are the warranty terms?

A:  MG Scientific warrants that the representations made for the products on this site accurately reflect the manufacturer's representations to us. MG Scientific expressly disclaims all other warranties whether express, implied or statutory - including the warranty of merchantability and fitness for use. In no event will MG Scientific be liable for consequential damages arising out of the use of products supplied by MG Scientific. Shipment of products outside the contiguous US may void manufacturer’s warranty.
 

 

Q: What are my payment options?

A:  Terms of payment are Net 30 days with pre-approved credit. Credit approval can be obtained with the submittal of bank and trade references. To set up an account and credit terms, please contact your MG Scientific sales or customer service representative. In addition, MG Scientific accepts VISA, MASTERCARD or AMERICAN EXPRESS. To avoid delays in processing orders for those who have not obtained prior credit approval, MG Scientific will ship any order C.O.D. or with ACH transfer.

A:  MG Scientific adheres to strict Quality Assurance Procedures and demands the same from each of our suppliers. MG Scientific inspects all shipments, inbound and outbound, for quality and accuracy and strictly adheres to regulations set forth by the DOT, OSHA and the EPA. MG Scientific also audits and reviews the performance of our suppliers on a regular basis to assure that high standards are met from production to delivery on every product.

Q: How much is shipping & handling?
A:

MG Scientific ships products to meet both product and customer requirements. Allow us to choose the best way for you or specify your preferred carrier. Many options are available; UPS, MG Trucks, LTL, USPS, FED-X, etc… Be advised that many products can only be shipped via common carrier due to factors such as weight, quantity and chemical type. If you have any questions regarding the shipment of your order please contact customer service at 800-343-8338 or attach special instructions to your order. If required, MG Scientific will notify you of the carrier chosen.

Q: How do I return something?
A:

No returns can be accepted without prior authorization from MG Scientific. If you find it necessary to return an item ordered from MG Scientific, please contact your MG Scientific customer service representative. Please have ready the date of your original purchase order and purchase order number. A restocking charge may be assessed based upon the individual circumstances of the order.
