Microbial Surface Sampling, Swabs, 3M™

Accuracy and consistency are both optimized by using 3M™ Quick Swabs. This ready-to-use environmental swab system can be used wet or dry and quickly delivers 1mL of sample onto a 3M Petrifilm™ Plate (see Related Items below).

1. Bend red snap valve to transfer all the broth into the tube.
2. Remove swab from tube and swab targeted area. Place swab back into tube and bring to the lab.
3. Shake or vortex tube vigorously for 10 seconds to release bacteria from swab.
4. Pour contents onto a 3M Petrifilm Plate.

The 3M Enviroswab is available in two types: Dry and Premoistened. The large swab head and shaped tip efficiently collects organisms from hard to reach places and the tamper evident band and resealable top ensures that you can easily check whether the swab has been previously used. It is designed for swabbing all types of food surfaces in the food industry.

The 3M Swab-Sampler is available in a wide range of medias and different volumes. Ready to use swabs with secure screw top prevents samples leaking in transit. Fits into a standard test tube rack for easy processing. Ample head space for effective vortexing and terminally sterilized by gamma radiation. Swab in pre-filled bottle with various diluents. Screw cap tubes filled with your choice of enrichment broth or neutralizing solution. Sample collection is easy with the attached swab, the bottles have ample headspace for sample addition and vortexing to release organisms from the swab.
