Thermometers are designed to monitor the critical temperature in incubators. Each one is mounted in a square shaped shatter proof plastic bottle filled with ethylene glycol to insure accurate readings despite the opening and closing of the instrument doors. The thermometers have engraved stems and are thoroughly annealed for lasting accuracy. Each one has its own unique serial number and has been tested against a standard calibrated at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). A certificate of accuracy is supplied with the thermometer making its indications traceable to NISAT. Velcro® is affixed to the bottle, permitting the thermometer to be attached to the wall or door of the instrument, reducing space and breakage problems.
