The tedious, time consuming task of inoculating cultures into petri dishes just got a lot faster and a lot more reliable. The Astral Inoculation System eliminates the metal or wire loop flaming step and the hazards of spattering, cross-contamination, infectious aerosols and open flame.
The Astral Inoculation System consists of a color coded inoculation loop or streaking needle and a specially designed handle which may be autoclaved repeatedly, without damage. The inoculation loops are color coded, sterile, available in 1ul or 10uL sizes and are packaged in 96 chamber racks. All Astral Loops and Streaking Needles are certified to be free of RNase, DNase, DNA, pyrogens and PCR inhibitors.
To use the system simply insert the handle into the sterile compartment by piercing the sealing film. The handle is designed to be used with one hand and will easily puncture the aluminum sealing film, attaching itself to the Astral Loop or Streaking Needle. The handle may then be withdrawn from the individual sterile chamber and is ready to use for inoculation or streaking . When the inoculation or streaking process is complete, the Astral Loop or Streaking Needle may then be ejected off the Astral Handle.
The Astral Inoculation System allows the technician to inoculate prepared plates at an extremely rapid rate in any laboratory setting and the savings can be substantial – fewer plates used, guaranteed sterility and zero cross-contamination.
