According to Standard Methods for the Examination of Dairy Products, 16th edition, 1992, section 3.4, Sampling Raw Milk, para. 5b, e “Do not expel air when folding or whirling plastic bags…Place samples immediately in a sample case with a mixture of ice and water, and protect them from becoming submerged in water. Whirl-Pak® bags and the NASCO Ice Chest meet both of these requirements.
